SEND

We pride ourselves at St Thomas’ for being an inclusive school where every child can strive to reach their full potential. We encourage our children to respect others and to celebrate difference. Our staff work hard to ensure the needs of all learners are met through a robust and committed universal offer. We consider our learning environments and are striving for a universal design for learning where children’s needs are met in the classroom and the wider school environment. We believe that every teacher is a teacher of SEND and immersion of resources throughout the school environment means all children have the opportunity to thrive. Our staff attend training to ensure they can help to support the wide spectrum of SEND in our school. Individual Target Plans are written for children who need them and are reviewed every three to four weeks to ensure children make progress. Teachers meet with parents to share the new target plans regularly and then formally every term for a SEND review meeting.

"Pupils with SEND thrive and take part fully in school life."
